A title is the hardest one for me

For a long time, I have been giving thought on how identity is shaped by history. The current project delves into the connection of personal identity and collective historical events. By using documentary photographs from the archive, I merged them with self-portraits of individuals captured in analogue. The aim is to bring a visual dialogue to the viewers put them in those historical moments and have them actively make their own connection; To be engaged in their roles as both observer and actively participate in the ever-evolving history line.
Each image in this series is meticulously crafted; a fusion of archival photographs and self portraits. A shake the linear perception of time down; bridge the past and present side by side in a way to encourage the viewers to contemplate the influence of historical moment on their identities.
This is an exploration of the inextricable relationship between personal and collective history. By visually blending archival imagery with self-portraits, I aim to spark a provoking conversation that prompts viewers to reconsider their place within broader context of time.
Personal identity, is a central to this project. Participant’s unique background, experience and personal history contributed to the overall narrative creating a multifaceted exploration of complex relationship between the self and the past.
